Review of “No Time Like the Future” by Michael J. Fox

WOW! Michael J. Fox is a stand up guy! I really enjoyed his memoir. I am giving this book a 4.5 star review!

Michael J. Fox is a household name. Everyone knows him from Back to the Future, Teen Wolf, Doc Hollywood, Spin City…. This is a memoir that does not go through his entire life like a typical memoir. This is more about after his diagnosis with Parkinson’s, his family, working on sets after his diagnosis, etc.  His wit, humor, and optimistic way of looking at everything in his life really makes this book unique. He is humble and inspiring.  This is a smaller book. I read it very quickly. His writing just flows and is very well written. I really enjoyed him talking about his family and dog! You can tell that family means the world to him. He also talks about the joys and struggles of being an actor with Parkinson’s Disease. We learn all about his foundation to raise money and awareness about Parkinson’s. He has done a lot of good things to assist with the advancement of research on the disease. If you want a book that dishes on his Hollywood movies and life, this is not the book though. He discusses them, but not like a typical memoir. I made him seem not an actor but just a family man. I laughed, I cried, and I respect him a lot more after I read this book. I highly recommend this book!
