Review of the ARC “The Switch” by Beth O’Leary

  • This is the author of “The Flatshare” which I gave a 5 star review as well.

I am giving this book a 5 star review!

What a delightful read! After her debut novel “The Flatshare,” I knew that this author was going to slowly become one of my faves! She did not disappoint in this novel.

Basically a 79 year old grandma and her granddaughter swap places. Both needed time away from their busy lives for a little adventure or get away. Needless to say, both grow as people and solve major life problems as well as find love along the way!

I cannot tell you how much I liked this book. Until the last page, I was entangled into the story! The characters are all a delight! It has a mix of funny, sad, and tear jerking moments. It is a story of family, grief, friendships, and love. It goes to show you that you can miss things right in front of you if you are too busy to sit back and relax. Beth O’Leary’s writing style is just spot on to make me want to keep reading! The characters were all charming and well developed. Even though there are a lot of characters, they are so well developed that you really do not mind at all. The cute little country town vs. the big city aspect was fun to read too.

If you are looking for a quick and fun read, pick this book up. I will recommend this book to anyone just like her debut novel last year!

A big thank you to Edelweiss and Flatiron Books for the ARC!

It has multiple covers. I wanted to share the other cover art with you as well.
