Review of “The Upside of Unrequited” by Becky Albertalli (Simonverse #2)

OMG I loved this book a lot! I am rating it a 4.5 star review!

Basically, a novel about sisterhood, growing up, first loves, etc. It is about a girl who has a twin sister. She has never had a boyfriend, but her sister just started to date a girlfriend. The main character struggles with jealously but also the loss (time she is spending with her girlfriend) of her twin sister/friend. But it is also a story of the main character growing up and trying to find love herself.

First, I want to say thank you to the author. She had the main character struggle with her body image, but the MC does not obsess about it.

Second, I just was rooting for all the characters the entire time. I rooted for Molly, Cassie, their parents, etc. I caught myself being so happy at times, I was smiling from ear to ear! The characters were very well developed. I enjoyed it the most because of how much I just loved the characters! I totally cried- happy tears!

It is a fast read, but it was so cute that you do not mind!

You do not need to read the 1st books in the Simonverse. There are some very minor characters that cross into this book. But I did read both of them. And both are great! I gave Simon vs. the Homo Sapians Agenda a 5 star review in 2018! I just adored it! I need to read all the Simonverse books!
