I am giving this book a 2.5-3 star review. I was not impressed with too much in this book.
This book is about a group of siblings whose parents abused them as children. They were chained up and abused in what was called the “house of horrors” in the press. Afterwards, each child was separated into adoptive families. After their mother dies in prison, Girl A (Lex) must travel to see each one of her siblings. Each has a way of coping with what happened to them. Throughout the novel, there are flashbacks to give you a glimpse of their childhoods.
What a boring and slow book. This book had SO much potential with the original plot. But it lacked in a lot of ways for me including the writing style. I wish there was more emotion. Like instead of SO many characters, give the reader a smaller amount of characters with more emotions. I really did not like any of the characters or their stories. When the author jumped around, it felt disjointed. Also, to anyone thinking this is a thriller, it is NOT.
