2019 My Wrap Up in Books

2019 New year greeting card with fireworks. Minimalist style, geometric thin outline. Vector, eps.10

I am not going to mention all 140 books that I read this year. I am going to mention the top 5 in graphics, top in fiction, and then honorable mentions in fiction, then my least favorite. I am omitting some novels though from this list. You can follow me on Goodreads for all the other books from this year!

Favorite Graphic Novels:

  • I finished the last 10 of “The Walking Dead” novels. It was bitter sweet, and I will miss the series a lot. The ending is not to be missed. The last novel is a must read for any Dead fan.
  • “This One Summer” by Mariko Tamaki
  • “They Called Us Enemy” by George Takei
  • “White Bird” by R. J. Palacio
  • “Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations” by Mira Jacob

Top Fictions novels

  • I read the last 4 Harry Potter novels last January. It was the first time that I had ever read or seen the movies. Harry Potter really sucked me in. I am now a huge fan of the series. I cannot believe that I did not read these books prior. Needless to say, Harry Potter was my highlight from 2018 and spilled right into my 2019! I am now a Harry fan for life! Thanks for everyone for encouraging me to read these splendid novels.
  • “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michealides
  • “Daisy Jones and the Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • “Tattooist of Auschwitz” by Heather Morris
  • I became a Riley Sager fan in 2019. I read all 3 of his novels and loved them. “The Final Girls,” “The Last Time I Lied,” andLock Every Door”
  • “Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • “The Flat Share” by Beth O’Leary
  • “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert
  • “Becoming” by Michelle Obama- I know a lot of people have issues with this novel because of thier political views, but know she is not a politician
  • “Evvie Drake Starts Over” by Linda Holmes

Honorable Mentions

  • “Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered”- Made me start listening to podcasts as well as start to branch into true crime in novels and tv
  • “The Chain” by Adrian Mckinty
  • “Well Met” by Jen Deluca
  • The Simple Wild
  • “Things You Save in a Fire” by Katherine Center
  • No Exit- although it was not my favorite, it is still worth a read as it is a quick and page turning thriller….more like ride! by Taylor Adams
  • “November 9” by Colleen Hoover
  • “The Last Mrs. Parrish” by Liv Constantine
  • Waiting for tom hanks
  • “Unhoneymooners” by Christina Lauren
