Review of “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell

Oh wow! This book was good! 5 star easily from me.

Cath and Wren are twins. Wren wants a little indepnedance from Cath when they head off to college. Cath is very much a loner only spending her time with Wren. So when she goes to college, she has no room for making friends. She writes fan fiction from “The Simon Snow” series as a hobby. She meets her roommate, Reagan, as well as Levi. Cath takes times adjusting to life without her twin sister, being away from her home and dad, and her new college life.

The characters in this book were so vivid. I just loved all the characters in it. I found myself really rooting for all of them, especially Cath. Her social anxiety is really something that I can relate to. In addition, you get wrapped into the “will they or won’t they” relationship with Levi and Cath! You also have family drama with her twin, father, and estranged mother. But you also have Cath struggling internally trying to find out who she is as an individual from her twin sister. I am also an identical twin. During college is where we had to separate and found our own paths. I completely relate to this book in that way as well.

Overall a great novel. I will recommend this book for years. I cannot believe that it took me so long to read it.
