What a unique plot. I do not usually read books like this. I am not a supernatural fan. I picked it up because it was more in-depth than just seeing ghosts. This book dealt with topics about family, grief, love, and moving forward. I really enjoyed reading it.
I really liked the characters in the novel. I think they could have done a lot more to explore her relationships with her family though. But overall, I really felt like I knew the characters. I really liked how the romance of the story was not the entire focus of the book. But the least they could have done was explore it a little more. The only other thing was not feeling that chemistry in the romance.
It started out as a 5 star read for me. But as the book went on, the rating lessened. I am not sure if it was the pacing or just me losing interest in the characters. I wish they would have explored talking to ghosts a lot more too. I felt like it was not a bigger part of the plot as it should have been.
I thought it was cute that she is a ghostwriter for a famous author and she can also see ghosts. Some of the lines in the book were cute or funny. I highlighted a lot of my favorite quotes. I am obsessed with crows/ravens. I also like to walk through cemeteries.
