Review of “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab

I am rating this book a 4.5 star review. What can I say about this book. I adored it.

Basically, a girls sell his soul to the “devil,” so to speak. Addie makes a bargain to live forever but is also cursed at the same time to always be forgotten. She lives 300 years and never has a home, someone who is there for her, or even fallen in love. The story starts in 1714 and goes to 2014. But in 2014, she meets someone who remembers her.

This story was so unique. I have never read anything quite like this before. I have read many time travel novels but this was quite unique. I enjoyed the characters a lot. The book was so beautiful written. The ending was also unique!

I really did not feel the love for the romance(s) in the book though. I also did not like the frequent back and forth between the 1700s and 2014. I think the novel could have been half the length if they cut out some of the repetitive parts of the story. She goes back to see her parents, wanders around and no one remembers her, sees Luc (the bargainer), and then back to 2014. I wish we could have seen more of the historical events that she witnessed throughout her 300 year old life.

Overall, I loved the book.  I will recommend it to others as well!
