2021 was a great year in books….

I completed 136 books this year. I had a slow period from July to October. I had a lot of stress at work. After taking care of that, I got back on track. But it really slowed me down. My goal was 130 books, so I cannot complain. But I wanted to reach 150 books this year. I think 130 books is my typical limit, so I am setting my goal for 2022 as 130 books!

Page total: 38,032 pages with 136 books!

Longest Book: The Passage by Justin Cronin at 766 pages!

Average length for a book: 280 pages

Average review: 4.1

Most popular book: The Hunger Games

Settings:

I keep track of the settings of my book. I have a journal and color code a map. I read from 24 states in the USA in 2021. I did not read from a lot of other countries other than the USA. I did 15 countries this year. I think a major goal of mine will be to read from other countries for 2022. But I am a mood reader, so I will just whatever I think fits me at that moment.

I read a lot of different genres:

Memoirs: 27

Mystery/Thrillers: 27

Rom-coms and Romance: 24

Graphic novels: 22

Poetry: 3

Literary: 14

Classics: 4

Historical Fiction: 4

Non-fiction: 9

Magical/Fantasy: 5

YA: 14

Dystopian: 5

True Crime: 1

I know that I want to read more light-hearted books for 2022. I also want .to read more classics and true crime this year.

I am behind by 10 reviews. I will have them all posted shortly. I have been so busy with Christmas and the holidays that I got behind. I cannot believe how behind that I am.

I had a lot of DNF books. But I did not keep track of them this year. The above books were the ones that I found bad and finished.

I read more books written by female authors this year. I read 40 by male, 91 by female and 2 by non-binary authors.

Overall, I had a good year. Here is to 130+ books in 2022! Happy reading, Book Nerds!
