I could not put this novel down. The writing was so good! I would consider this novel a physiological thriller.
It is about a new young bride who marries an older widow. After their honeymoon, they return to her new house. This is the house that he shared with his late wife. Some strange things happen around her as she learns how Rebecca (his first wife) died. As the story unfolds, you discover a lot more than meets the eye.
The story is VERY detailed. As the author describes the house, scent of the flowers, the characters, the reader can put themselves right there. Her writing is poetic descriptions of the surroundings. I got swept away in the details in the story.
I typically do not review classics, but I want people to pick this book up and read it! 5 solid stars from me. I have read a lot of classics, and this one is just one of the great thrillers!
