Review of “The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

I am rating this novel a 4.5 star review. Such a page turner. If you want a murder mystery but do not want to read a book about a cop investigating a murder (Blah) then this is the book for you. This book follows the rules of a classic who-dun-it. Just right when I would guess the murderer then I would discover it was a red herring. I really enjoyed this novel as it was a refreshing and quick read.

Basically, a young girl decides to do her school project on a local solved murder. She had met the alleged murderer and knew he was innocent. She starts her investigation with simple facts of the case. Then starts to investigate, interview people, etc. Every clue leads her closer to the killer. She has her suspect list and at the end of each chapter, her list is shown. There are a lot of characters, but the author makes sure she reminds you of who is who. I did not have any issues keeping track of the characters though.

The characters were all great! I enjoyed the changing chapters from interviews, her report, etc. I felt like I was on the case/report with her! I even noticed myself giving her advice in my head!!!! In conclusion, I just loved this book a lot and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good murder case to solve!
