Patti Smith to publish a memoir called “Bread of Angels.”

“The 10: A Mamoir of Family and the Open Road” by E.A. Hanks is about Tom Hanks daughter and will follow abuse by her mother (Ton and Susan divorced) and Tom getting custody of her.

NBC’s Vicky Nguyen’s memoir is called “Boat Baby” and be her story from immigrated to the USA from Vietnam to her life in America.

📚 New & Upcoming Book Releases

The Rock and Nick Bilton will be co-authoring a true crime book about the Hawaii mob boss. It will also be adapted into a movie by Martin Scorsese. The film will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Emily Blunt, and The Rock.

Joan Didion’s Notes to John

Published posthumously on April 22, Notes to John comprises 46 unedited diary entries from 1999 to 2003, addressed to her late husband, John Gregory Dunne. The entries delve into Didion’s personal struggles, including her daughter’s alcoholism and her own mental health. Critics have raised ethical concerns about publishing such intimate material that Didion never intended for public release. ​

Pope Francis’ Final Reflections

Shortly before his passing, Pope Francis penned a preface for Cardinal Angelo Scola’s upcoming book, Awaiting a New Beginning: Reflections on Old Age. In it, he discusses aging and mortality, emphasizing that death is not the end but a transition to eternal life. The book is set for release on April 24. ​

Dave Eggers’ Sequel to The Eyes & The Impossible

Dave Eggers is releasing a sequel titled The Eyes, The Fire, & The Avalanche Kingdom on November 18. The story continues the adventures of Johannes, a free dog, and his companions. The book will feature illustrations by Shawn Harris and will also be available in a special woodbound edition by McSweeney’s. ​

Emily Henry Adaptations

Five of Emily Henry’s novels are being adapted for screen:

Meryl Streep and Daniel Craig will play Aslan in Narnia for an upcoming movie (Netflix)

  • People We Meet on Vacation – Netflix film starring Tom Blyth and Emily Bader.
  • Book Lovers – Film adaptation with screenplay by Sarah Heyward.
  • Beach Read – Film directed by Yulin Kuang.
  • Happy Place – Netflix series produced by Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions.
  • Funny Story – Film adaptation with screenplay by Emily Henry herself. ​

New Pride and Prejudice Miniseries

Netflix is producing a six-episode adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy. The series is written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn. ​

Suzanne Collins’ Sunrise on the Reaping

A new prequel to The Hunger Games, focusing on the 50th Hunger Games and Haymitch Abernathy’s experience, was released on March 18. A film adaptation is scheduled for release on November 20, 2026.

Andy Serkis’ Animal Farm

An animated adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, directed by Andy Serkis, is in production. The film features voices from Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, and others. Netflix has acquired distribution rights.​
