Lore Olympus is a modern, visually stunning retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone, reimagined in a world that blends ancient mythology with contemporary life. The story introduces Persephone as a sheltered, sweet goddess who has just moved to Olympus to study and become part of the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood. She’s trying to find her independence while navigating a fast-paced world filled with powerful gods, complex relationships, and hidden dangers. In Volume…

I honestly didn’t expect to love Lore Olympus as much as I did—it’s the rom-com I didn’t know I needed. This fresh, modern take on Greek mythology is both captivating and gorgeously illustrated. The artwork is stunning, with vibrant, moody colors that bring so much emotion and depth to every panel. Each image feels intentional, like it’s telling its own story alongside the words.

What really hooked me is the way Rachel Smythe gives the gods a feminine, vulnerable twist that makes them feel beautifully human. Pe trsephone isn’t the traditional damsel or goddess—she’s complex, sweet, and struggling to find where she belongs. And Hades? Somehow, this grumpy, brooding king of the underworld is now one of the most charming love interests I’ve ever read. He gives off Mr. Darcy vibes. I never expected to root for this unusual pair, but their chemistry, awkwardness, and slow-burn connection completely won me over.

The humor, the raw moments, and the way Smythe weaves in serious topics like consent and power dynamics make this more than just a fluffy romance—it’s smart, it’s emotional, and it sticks with you.

If you’re looking for something that’s part myth, part rom-com, and part social commentary, this is absolutely worth picking up.
