Genre:
In The Tenant, a seemingly ordinary apartment turns into the center of a chilling mystery when a new tenant moves in—and nothing is quite what it seems. The story follows multiple characters, each with their own secrets and perspectives, as strange and unsettling events begin to unfold within the building. As the new tenant’s behavior grows increasingly disturbing, the lines between reality and paranoia begin to blur. What starts as an uncomfortable presence escalates into…

I’m giving this one 3.5 stars mostly because of the ending. I love a good twist, but only when it still feels grounded in reality. This one really pushed that line for me—in fact, it kind of jumped right over it. Don’t get me wrong, the ending was shocking and definitely unforgettable, but it also left me thinking, Wait, that just wouldn’t happen in real life. After investing all that time, it felt a little frustrating.

That said, the book itself is incredibly well-written. The characters were fully developed, and I felt like I really understood their personalities and motivations. The story was super engaging—I honestly couldn’t put it down. The use of multiple perspectives throughout the book added depth and kept the momentum going.

Honestly, I think the story didn’t even need that final twist. The unraveling tension around the new tenant—who was disturbing and completely unpredictable—was more than enough. Think Fatal Attraction, just without the love affair. That alone could’ve carried the ending for me.

Still a really compelling read, just wish the final turn had felt a little more believable.
