Review for “Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations” by Mira Jacob

I am giving this graphic novel a 5 star review.

This was a great graphic novel. I had been trying to get my hands on this book for a while now. Let me tell you that I was not disappointed. This is a memoir completely done in conversations. What an unique way of writing! The graphics were unique; a blend of graphics and photos. Mira talks about a lot of heavy topics including, race, politics, identity, family, raising a child, dating, and sex. She mixes the heavy conversations with humor at times. One thing that I did not like was how it jumped time. Each chapter was not in chronological order. I read this book rather quickly but still wanted to talk in the graphics. I have read A LOT of graphic novels over the years and this one was unique. I enjoy it. It was refreshing.
